Original acrylic painting, on canvas panel, 10 x 8″. Professional quality acrylic paints. Varnished to protect from dust and UV light. This painting was inspired by a little nuthatch I saw recently at Almondell & Calderwood Country Park in West Lothian. I like to try and spot birds and take my own photos of them, when I’m out and about, and then create my paintings from the photos. It’s really important to me to have seen the bird in real life first as so much of their character and the way that they move can only be gleaned from watching them. This little guy was very busy, moving around in circles while he pecked busily at the tree bark (looking for insects I assume! . Loved the soft peachy yellow colour of his breast and I really wanted to paint him against the patterns of the cut off tree branch he was sitting on. The painting is being sold unframed. However if you would like it framed, I can frame it in a simple oak tray frame (no glass, painting fixed in with sticky tabs) as shown in the “in studio” view. The additional cost of the frame would be ¶œ32. If you would like the frame please message me before you purchase and I will add it to the listing. Will be carefully wrapped and dispatched in a cardboard box. Certificate of Authenticity included. (I am happy to post direct to the recipient, if the painting is a gift. Gift wrapping available.)
