On my winter daily walks I found a fascination in the hedge tops that held on steadfastly to a few remaining leaves from the summer. The light was fading and the leaves looked like little birds. I made two mosaics, one at sunset (part 1) and one at moon rise (part 2) . I imagined the birds were born from saplings and would fly away at moon rise. The gold glass here is one I make by gilding clear glass with coloured metal leaf. Please see part 2 , one is not complete without the other!
