This painting was inspired by a sketch I did on 16th March 2018 during Storm Gareth. The rain was misty and heavy and it was travelling horizontally through the sky, obscuring the hills and buildings in the distance. The painting is unframed. Why paint on OSB? One of the best things about street art, for me, is that you can be walking around doing everyday things and be surprised by a piece of art in a corner somewhere. Itƒ??s difficult to get the same sense of surprise in a gallery or a home; people go to a gallery or see something hanging on a wall in a home and expect to see art. But it might be just a little surprise to see the paintings on an everyday building material, such as OSB. By leaving it obvious that my artwork is on chipboard, it gives it a rough, industrial, textural feel; as if it has been removed from a wall outside and brought in.
