People can contribute securely without creating an account. They can choose their contribution, add an optional message and decide whether their name is displayed.
The organiser can monitor the fund without having to collect or record the payments personally.
3. CommissionIt handles everything else
Once the fund closes, CommissionIt confirms the available budget and helps turn the original idea into a workable creative brief.
We identify suitable artists or makers, confirm the scope and price, manage approvals and oversee the project through to delivery.

If you have not chosen an artist, start with the idea. Tell us about the recipient, occasion, preferred style, approximate budget and what you hope to create.
CommissionIt can then help shape the brief and recommend the right creative professional from a network of more than 1,000 artists, makers and specialists.
One wedding gift, created by everyone
The Wedding Legacy Fund applies the same simple approach to weddings.
The couple, a relative, a friend or a wedding planner creates the fund. Guests are invited to contribute, and CommissionIt turns the combined budget into one original creation.
That could be a portrait created from the wedding photographs, an artwork inspired by the venue, a bespoke object for the couple’s home or a piece incorporating messages and memories from the people who attended.
The final commission does not have to be decided before the wedding. The fund can be created first, allowing the couple to help shape the artwork once the photographs, messages and memories have been gathered.

What does CommissionIt manage?
CommissionIt reviews the project, creates the contribution page, receives and records contributions, confirms the verified project budget, develops the creative brief, recommends suitable artists or makers, agrees scope and timing, manages approvals, monitors production and arranges completion and delivery.
The organiser can remain involved in the enjoyable decisions without carrying the entire administrative burden.
What happens if the target is not reached?
A creative project does not necessarily have to be abandoned because the original target was missed.
Depending on the fund terms and verified balance, the organiser and recipient may be able to extend the contribution deadline, pay the remaining balance, adjust the scale or complexity, or select a different complete commission that fits the available budget.
At least one complete option should be available within the funded amount. Any upgrade remains optional.
Can the recipient withdraw the money?
The Wedding Legacy Fund is designed to finance a bespoke artwork or creative project managed by CommissionIt.
The verified net balance cannot be withdrawn, transferred or divided as money. It is not a bank account, savings product or unrestricted cash fund.
The public campaign total may represent gross contributions. Payment processing fees, refunds, disputes, reversals or chargebacks can affect the final verified balance available for the commission.
Do contributors need an account?
No. Contributors can use guest checkout.
The organiser has an account so they can return to manage the campaign and monitor contributions. Friends, relatives, wedding guests and colleagues can participate without registering.
When does the commission begin?
Production begins only after the fund has closed, the financial position has been checked and the primary client has approved the final brief and artist or maker proposal.
This protects both the recipient and the creative professional. Nobody begins producing a bespoke item before the available budget, scope and responsibilities are clear.
